Looking for an inexpensive fuzz pedal to recreate a sound akin to the bass on Kings of Leon's "Crawl" or something to mimick a fuzzy synth bass. Looking at a Danelectro Cool Cat CF-2 Fuzz pedal, mainly due to low budget. Anyone have any experience w/ these pedals or other suggestions? |

More expensive than $25, but you can dial in anything form warm fuzz to overdrive to all out distorted fury. I spent over $100 on several "cheap" pedals. Finally took the plunge and could not be happier. |

Most of the behringer pedals are based on their Boss counterparts, with the exception of the cheap plastic housing. My 2 sense. |

If you can't afford a nice, new pedal, find one you like sound-wise and look around for a used one. Pawn shops, eBay, you local mom and pop music store, hell even Guitar Center sells used pedals. |

| | | | The Ibanez tone lock pedals are built pretty solidly. Plus, the push-to-hide knobs are something that should be standard on pedals. Sometimes, cheap equals bad. Sometimes, it does not. |

From what I understand, it's essentially a reverse-engineered Frantone Peachfuzz, which is a $300 fuzz pedal. It's a decent pedal, but I'm not super big on the tone. It's a bit to raspy/trebly for my taste, but it might work well for getting a synthy sound.
If you're able to drop a few more bucks, the Bass Big Muff (as already mentioned) is extremely usable and sounds great. |

My sentiments exactly. That or a Russian Big Muff for $67. A little more than the Danelectro, but it'll have you pretty much set in your fuzz department without an urgent need to upgrade
