Cheap Bass Trainer?

Looking for a cheap trainer. The KORG PX4D and Tascam are too expensive for me new, although I'd go 2nd hand if I saw one.

The main feature I want to do is practise to MP3s/CDs via headphones, the other features, bass cancelling, slow down, looping, effects etc would be nice but can live without them.

Any suggestions?

Bass => Guitar Amp =>Headphones
Laptop => Best PRactice Software => Guitar Amp => headphones.

I have either a Roland Microcube or Crate Power Block for this purpose

Hows the through guitar amp work with playing along to an external source? CD/MP3 player?

Is there anything that's kinda just plug in bass, headphones, mp3 player and like that's it??
