hey guys wana dip into using harmonizers but i dont have the $$$ to buy a bass whammy
any suggestions for a cheaper pedal? im think no more then $200AUD, im considering a BOSS HR-2, any1 had any experience with it? i know it a guitar pedal tho.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Feb 2006 Location: Auckland, New Zealand | | Haven't tried it, but a used Digitech XP100 whammy-wah (there are always several on www.ishibashi.co.jp/u_box/, and they're 15800 yen, shipping to Australia should be cheap meaning it should come in under $200AU) should fit the bill. They are reputed to do all the harmonies that the Bass Whammy does (including the 5th up-octave up) if you wanna do tool covers.
Pedal control is a cool thing, but it'll use up a lot more pedalboard real estate than the boss...

Looked at the boss pitch shifters? The have exp control if you decide to go that way.

The PS-5 can do everything the HR-2 could, right? Price wise you're best off getting something that's used but not discontinued.
EDIT: Just did a little more research and HR-2 has two harmonies vs one with the PS-5.

I did enjoy it while I had it though, used to love chucking it on + and - a 3rd and run my old SYB-3 through it
