Anyhow, The EBS Stan-Wah has the sound of the WahOne but has much more clarity.

Damn, I forgot what other options it has :X
Sorry guys, You'll have to wait few hours (I suppose) I only woke up now...

Good morning by the way...

It's the WahOne without the useless SimTube and Reverb options- Has much more clarity then the WahOne, And more versatile.

And it sounds funky with guitar as well (As i said no Bass amp :< -)

Looks like the controls on the side are for Active/Passive input and if you want it to act as a volume when off (or just a true bypass wah).

It has a Width and Range controls. Im assuming the Width controls how wide the effect of the filter is, and Range controls the freq range of the treadle. Im kindof interested on how that control works. Is the low end of the pedal constant and the range controls the freq of the high end position of the pedal? Or, does it affect both?

The modes seem to be
1. Low Pass
2. High Pass
3. Band Pass
4. Boosted Band Pass

The Range controls the frequency that the pedal goes i believe between high and low
The modes change the eq

Gah my head hurts, Your sentence made me go whagrabababalaf

Huh. This kids, it why you should STAY in school

Seriously tho, the modes don't change the "eq", they change what the filter, well filters

Low pass filters out anything above a certain frequency, and high pass filters out anything below.

Band pass filters out everything around a frequency point.

If my question about the range knob hurts your head, perhaps I can reword it:

When you adjust the knob, does it sound different at both ends of the pedal sweep, or just one end.

Best way to tell the diff is to stick a drive pedal in front. The added freqs from it will make the filter stand out more.

it could be that range=frequency center (of the filter sweep) and width is the "range" of the sweep (counterintuitive, I know)

or range could affect the wah sweep, like you said. I'm curious too.

Now my head is clear, Had a kinda high-bad day yesterday.

Anyhow, When you turn the range knob to the right towards the end you almost can't feel it, You need to play with the Width to get a sound.

When you turn it left you get a more low-end sound, Like the WahOne.

This may be an inappropriate comparison, but how does the EBS Stanley Clarke Wah stack up against the Cry Baby Bass 105Q?

I understand the EBS has many more functions than 105Q, but in terms of a standard wah wah, does the extra cost buy you a better wah, or a more versatile pedal?

I ask because I need to upgrade my 105Q to the current model (with the off delay trim pot), and as far as I can see, the 105Q is perhaps the best bass wah available, even though I don't think its really that good anyway.

Cheers

ok, so the range seems to be the frequency center

I didn't get to hear the Cry baby 105Q, But from the youtube video of this guy with the TRB i have to say the EBS is much better.

The sickness...

Well... I got the sickness.

It started with picking up a used Mesa Boogie Bottle Rocket so I could add distortion to my tonal palette. Then, yesterday, I picked up the EBS Stanley Clarke wah pedal to funk it up some more. I haven't spent much time with it, but will take it to a rehearsal tonight.

One thing I noticed, is that when the wah is clicked off, the volume is noticeably louder than when applying the wah. Is this normal?

Matt

IME wahs, especially band pass ones, tend to have a volume drop.

If there's no volume control maybe there's an internal trimpot?
