I have been using the boss chorus ensemble for awhile now and although it is not a bad pedal I am looking for something a little more organic sounding with more depth. I want an analog chorus and have been looking at the analogman chorus and the visual sound liquid chorus. They both seem to be great pedals but seeing as i don't have the opportunity to try them out i need as much info as i can. My biggest concern is although they both seem great the price gap is 80$ which is alot for a pedal. What makes the analogman that much better that its worth 80$ more? Has anybody used one or owned one that has some insight? Any info on either pedal would be greatly appreciated! Thanks everybody, Mike
If you like the sound of the Chorus Ensemble but wish it were warmer, the MXR Analog Chorus might actually fit the bill for you. Their new Bass Chorus is amazing and has both a Crossover and switchable Flanger effect, but has a slightly different tonal flavor to it. It's a bit more "glassy sounding".

+1 I have been using chorus for more than 15 years tried many other than the EBS the simple original analog MXR is perfect for me. I'm not a flange guy and the bass and treble knobs are excellent. I'n not into big swooshy chorus I like it to thicken up my tone and just give a little effect without the waves it's on all the time. I haven't tried the new one but for my needs the original does exactly what I want it to.

I did a 3 way shootout between an Analogman, a Boss CE-5 and a HBE THC.
The Analogman was dead last and the Boss took first. I could not believe a pedal with such a reputation and such a price would perform so poorly on bass.
The HBE THC was very nice and I ultimately kept this pedal but the Boss was hard to beat for overall quality. The HBE is a bit more organic sounding but the Boss has more cut through. I like the CE-5 better than the Boss CEB-3 and I tested them side by side. They are close but the CE-5 has the edge and it has more fonctionality. Bang for the buck the CE-5 is hard to beat.
I also have tried the Fulltone Choralflange a couple of times over the years and it's more an airy/glassy sounding pedal. It's very pretty but better on guitar I think.
The MXR are very nice as well, the stereo chorus or even the mini chorus are terrific. Out of the two the stereo flanger is my favorite. If you are looking for something warmer sounding than the Boss that might be a great solution for you.

Did you have the Deep version of the pedal?
Anyway here's my clip of an Analogman Chorus with hardwired Deep setting.
EBS Unichorus. Can also do flange and pitch mod effects, but really shines as a warm, organic sounding chorus that leaves your bass fundamentals intact. No mud here. I get compliments on it every time I use it.

I tried out the MXR Bass Chorus Deluxe, and I'd say it sounds more "digital," and I'm not usually sensitive to that sort of thing. I have the MXR Analog Chorus, the EBS UniChorus, and the Boss CEB-3 and of those I prefer the CEB-3. The other three don't seem as smooth to me.

I'm using the TC Corona Chorus with a bass TonePrint. It gives you a lot of flexibility. Love my MXR pedals but they are one tricky ponies. Lately I've been liking lots of trick ponies.

+1 to the Corona Chorus. I think this pedal sounds amazing. Download a bass TonePrint and you are set. I dig Nathan East's and Duff McKagan's TonePrints.

I really like this pedal as well. Nice and quiet. I think I like it better than the Ebs which I have used for years.
Ha, this is what always happens when i post on here. Instead of deciding between 2 pedals ive abandoned the idea of both and am now interested in 5 other pedals haha. I appreciate all the feedback. I;m interested in the mxr chorus and the tc corona chorus quite a bit
