Chorus/Flanger: Arion DCF-1/other suggestions?

Sign in to disble this ad
My never ending G.A.S. has led me to this pedal. My Ce-2 just isn't to my liking and i need to pick up a new chorus/flanger I have minimal experience with arion pedals. I have searched and have found one or two reviews on this pedal but only with guitar players, and i am worried about possible bass loss. Any experience with these units?

i have used the sch-1 on bass briefly but im not paying the $100+ that they are going for on the 'bay.

Well I haven't tried out this specific unit but if it's as cheaply made as the 15$ Arion pedals that are out now I'd say it's a no go but you never know...their old stuff might be good.

this is a discontinued model around the same area as the SAD-1 and SCH-1 which were made a lot different than the current models.

I have zero experience with that Arion pedal, but here's a few options to consider for chorus and flanging that I've tried:

EBS Unichorus - warm chorus on one setting, mild but effective flanging on the next, and pitch modulation (akin to a chorus/vibrato pedal on high settings) on the last one. Minimal noise, compact, and simple to use. Only one mode at a time. Analog. Stereo outputs.

EHX Stereo Electric Mistress - full-fledged metallic, colorful flanging that's parallel to its warm chorus section. Chorus and flanger signals can be blended together, or you can just use one or the other. LED changes colors to reflect the rate. Common rate is shared for both. Built-in frozen flanger mode ("Filter Matrix"). Digital and virtually noise-free. Stereo outputs. Cheaper than the Unichorus (about $118.50 + tax).

I figured, if you don't feel like taking a chance on a discontinued pedal, there's always a few inexpensive options you might like more.
