Hey guys, I'm looking for a good chorus pedal that will help add more depth in a band setting and fill things up when the guitarist solos. I've been looking into the EBS Unichorus but I'm sure there's better pedals there. I've also looked into analogman chorus, but it's pretty expensive. Not looking to spend more than $150 right now... As far as flanger goes, I've been using an Ibanez Fl9 from the 80s with maxon electronics. It's a great flanger pedal by itself, but in a band setting, it just gets buried and becomes really subtle. Looking for a pedal that stands out more. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot |

2. Get SansAmp BDDI
3. Get Tech 21 XXL B
4. run signal chain XXL > Boss > BDDI
5. set dirt to taste, set chorus to make a modulation that isn't noticeable, but have the depth
6. set BDDI to favorite settings
7. plug into amp
8. pla7
9. ????
10. PROFIT
11. Get more pedals
12. Repeat
13. PROFIT AGAIN.

An octave pedal will produce a soundwave one octave below the pitch of the note you play. This adds depth, but it can also produce a nice growly sound as well, depending on what octave you go with. I really liked the MXR Bass Octave Deluxe that I had for a while. |

If an octave pedal with give girth and fill up the mix, I think an octave pedal is what I'm going to go for instead of a chorus pedal. Thanks bassman!! |

Thanks bassman!! | Octaves have always been my effect of choice when I need to fill in a more open mix during solos and the like. I would recommend an analog octave. They don't track quite as well as digital, but they sound way, way better. |

Think "Woodpecker From Mars," during the slow part, or a slightly less intense "Forty-Six and 2" flanger sound. I also like the chorus on "Enter Sandman;" it is, in fact, the only thing about that song I enjoy anymore. It was James running a guitar through a Roland JC-120; I would get the JC-55 or 77, because they allow you to adjust the rate and intensity of the chorus sound, whereas the 120 only allows the intensity.
