A chorus pedal to capture the 80's style music?

Sign in to disble this ad
Guys,
I am after a pedal/s in addition to EBS Multicomp to capture the 80's style music, (Duran Duran, Kajagoogoo...)
Any suggestions for a chorus pedal?
Thanks.
(playing 75RI Jazz bass)

I think either an MXR M-134 Stereo Chorus or an Ibanez CS-9 would be perfect. If you've got the cash, a T.C. Electronics Stereo Chorus would be great, too.

I second the Ibanez, but you may get some high end roll off when it's not on. So, I'd suggest a bypass pedal.

Pretty much any chorus pedal will get you "that sound", but I think the TC Electronic does a particularly good job of it.

Dimension C

go find a vintage boss Dimension C....thats the sound
its a chorus pedal with 4 presets only, in the typical modern boss case

if its Mick Karn you are trying to emulate, then no pedal..double track your lines

Be careful. It can get expensive.

Another suggestion: the EHX Stereo Clone Theory.

It's more of a New Order / The Cure variety, but it screams "80's" in a good way.

I still haven't found anything that comes close to the EHX Clone Theory. There is some hiss when it's engaged, but that's the only downside.
