Sign in to disble this ad
Hello! I'm looking for the Chunk Brown Dog Gated Bass Fuzz schematics.
I can't find it anywhere on the Internet and I need it for a little D.I.Y. project.
Can anyone help please?

The schematic is the intellectual property of the maker, and the design is still in production. There is no reason they would have permitted the schematic to be distributed anywhere. If you want a variety of other fuzz schematics, check out diystompboxes.com, geofex, and all the other DIY sites.

Then maybe the schematics from FZ002? http://www.chunksystems.com/fz002.htm
The FZ002 is now obsolete and has been superseded by the Brown Dog.

Thank you for your quick reply!

Is there any alternative to this effect? Another analog fuzz for bass with true bypass?

Most bass fuzz pedals are analog with true bypass nowadays.

Are you looking specifically for a gated fuzz? Or more generally, a fuzz that works well on bass? Anything you're looking for in terms of tone?

You sure you weren't "appalled" instead of "amazed"?

I really like this Brown Dog, so I guess I'm looking for something similar. I need also the schmatics for a DIY project. I want a couple of fuzz sounds in just one stompbox, from mellow fuzz to muddy fuzz. That's all!

If you do a bit of searching, there's a lot of forums that heavily into the hobby of reverse engineering pedals, might wanna check 'em out. I'm not giving any links though. Shouldn't be too hard to find if you have a look around geofx and others.

No, DON'T DO THAT! For #*&@! sake! Chunk Systems is a small time operator who's struck it lucky. If you publish schematics, even potentially inaccurately reverse-engineered schematics, you will significantly damage their business!

i was being sarcastic. the OP doesnt want to take "no" for an answer it seemed and i doubt he'll go and try it.

Fair enough, can't be too careful around here though... if enough of us said the best way to get a good bass tone was to jump in front of a bus, SOMEONE here would do it, I'm convinced!

haha. trust me i like to support small biz builders.

to the OP. i would suggest to either start saving.. or try looking at other fuzz schematics. fuzz boxes are pretty simple circuits in general.

I believe this was Beavis Audio

As for DIY projects check out the BYOC stuff and get a Triangle muff and a Swollen pickle, Tone bender, Fuzz face and put them in the same box that will give you everything you need without robbing someone elses hardwork.

BYOC is a pretty good start. begining out the Bazz Fuss is pretty neat and cheap/simple to build.
