Circuit-Bent PDS1700

I woke up really early and didn't have much to do so...

http://www.xhcfx.com/forum/gallery/a...S1700Bends.mp3

The demo starts with clean, then a flange sound I like then a chorus sound I like, then the bends start. You'll know when they come in. The very last thing is the bypass with a bypass-ruining bend engaged (see below).

Here's a list of all the bends I found and liked, but I only had 6 switches, so I haven't done all of them yet. The ones I actually did are bolded.

Big Chip (RCA Z)-
5-17: fuzzy bitcrush very loud and bassy
11-17: fuzzy bitcrush more reverb airy midrangey
4-23: tight ring mod/decimate
6-23: slightly ruder ring mod/decimate
7-20: ride ringmod/decimate
2-17: must have! Rude fuzz/bitcrushdecimae, not much LFO
11-16: Really nice squelching fuzz

Pin 17 is absolutely killer with any of the bottom pins

TL062 at the bottom left of the PCB:
1-3: Clock noise chaos

ADC0820CCN
9-16: Weird chopping trem nonsense (better in chorus than flange, kind of quiet, also this bend ruins the bypass)

Way cool!

Could you link me some info on bending PDS's, I have a 1002 that I'd love to mangle a bit.

I just opened it up and poked around. You'll probably get a lot of the same bitcrush/decimate/ringmod sounds from a 1002. I have a second 1002 on the way that I plan to really bastardize (bends, trimpots to absurd levels).

If you find a really big 24-pin chip, that's the one that has most of the best bends. I wouldn't be surprised if they used the same 24-pin chip in the 1002 as the 1700.

No 24 pin chips in the pds 1002. There are 16 12 pin chips and 4 8 pin chips.

The sonic chaos made the poor little doggy's ears bleed so he had to have them bandaged up...

Cool sounds though, makes me want to try it myself!

Well, once I get my 2nd one in and bend it, I'll definitely post the results here. I'm not sure if they'll be as wild though, I think the LFO on the 1700 adds some life to the bends, but we'll see.
