This circuit mod ok to reduce o.p. volume?

I have a Devi Ever GZ which is pretty awesome, but the output is so ridiculously high that live I can only have the volume barely cracked off zero so that the level is somewhere near the clean volume level. I need to seriously reduce the output by at least half or more so I have an increased actual practical usable range in the volume knob.

Here's a schematic of a nearly identical pedal (just a few cap and resistor values, and one transistor different).

I assume just adding a resistor around 100k - 250k in series with the signal out will achieve this?

Yep, that should do it. Also FWIW when I added a passive tone pot to the output of the Devi VFM, it reduced the output significantly, the more I rolled back the tone. So if you feel like experimenting, try a tone pot.
