Sign in to disble this ad
Ok hears what im looking for just want a bit more info from you guys and girls.
Im looking for a clean boost pedal, somthing that i can click with my foot to get over a mix in certent parts. As of now im using my volume pedal (ernie ball)To get over but have to go back and lower it for the next part. What to use. I would like to keep my lows the same frequence and have the highs stand out.
pedals i thought might work for this application
keely clean boost
some sort of eq
keely java or katana not sure witch it was
and I think mxr makes a good clean boost
Im using my amp compressor should i be using a better one its a ashdown combo.

Any thoughts are great thanks guys and girls
peace.

Creation Audio Labs Mk.4.23 24 dB of pure clean boost, no color, quiet as a mouse.

Here is a surprise answer.
The Fuzzhugger Arc Flash.
With the mode switch in the down position and the gain set at 12:00 o’clock or below you have a pure transparent boost.
The tone remains the same as the bypassed tone.

And you can get insane fuzzy goodness out of it too.

I highly recommend this:

http://www.xotic.us/effects/base_rc/

It meets all of your criteria:
-clean, footswitchable boost
-2 band cut/boost eq so you can balance the exact amount of top to bottom that you want!

I love my Bass RC- it's one of the best pedal purchases I've made. It's very clean (no clipping or weird phase shifting), lets your instruments inherent tone through, is totally quiet (even at high boost settings) + the eq is very useful and musical sounding.

There's certainly many pedals that can boost your volume, but the RC is pretty much purpose built for what I think you want! The Creation Audio is great, but has no eq adjustment & has waaay more boost than you'll likely need (24 db is a lot!). Other pedals (like fuzzes, od's "fat-boosts" will likely color your tone - which is cool if you want that - but, the RC is very transparent.

That RC Boost looks nice. I clicked onto the xotic link for more details, but still can't tell what the function of the knob on the upper left is. Also, the price seems rather steep.

Seymour Duncan "Pickup Booster" is nice.
Class "A" clean boost, true bypass, 3 position EQ switch.
Reasonable price.

That's the 'gain' knob. The Bass RC doesn't distort, but the gain is before eq & the volume post eq...

They sell closer to 180-186 on the street.
