| Clean boost or aby?

Long time lurker, rare poster.
But this is the question. I recently came across a '74(ish) ampeg V4 to replace my sm400. I really like the tube overdrive much better than any pedal I have tried.
My question is that if i want to use this as my overdrive, would it be a bad idea to get an aby switch and run two outputs into the 2 channels of my V4 (one set at a higher gain)? Or should i just get a clean boost (ehx lpb1 perhaps) to push it from clean into an overdrive? |
