Clean Boost with EQ Bump/Cut?

Sign in to disble this ad
I am looking for the following qualities to see if it already exists:
1. The pedal case is the size of the Malekko Omicron and similar micro sizes.

2. One Knob: Level

3. EQ switch for mid boost, flat or mid cut.

I know I can put in a request to Max at [sfx] he could easily modify the Micro Boost, but I am curious if there is an existing pedal that already does this.

I currently have an MXR EQ at the end of the chain, but I mostly use it to give the mids a small boost or cut, sometimes flat. And the level for when I got direct to a power amp. Given my limited use of a 10-band EQ, I was thinking I could save a couple squares inches by simplifying.

Not micro, and not in current production, but the Catalinbread Varioboost is the closest thing I know of.

Bongo, what was the name of the pedal you had a few years ago. Etched markings, some type of filter based EQ with a boost.

EDIT: Found it. Fromel Shape EQ. I've been looking all day and I should have just checked your profile.

The closest thing I can think of would be Source Audio's programmable EQ coming out in a few days.

Source Audio Programmable EQ - Summer NAMM 2011 - YouTube

You could customize three separate EQ profiles (flat, mid boost, mid cut) yourself and switch between them (and one more) as you please. Not quite micro though, something like MXR sized.

It is possible I am being too picky about the pedal size. The MXR M108 is doing a fine job at its current task.

The Plush FX Jersey Thunder EQ pedals comes close to my goals. $200...pricey!

EWS BMC (Bass Mid Control)

This pedal seems to do exactly what I am wanting. I've never heard of EWS Effects, though. $128.

It is endorsed by TBer Jauqo III-X, you might want to ask him about it.

Interesting, I found some references to the [sfx] AY2. I might have to look into that.
