Clean-Effect Blend

Sign in to disble this ad
Hello all,

I am sure this has been covered but I cannot find it after a day of searching. I am getting a Fuzz pedal (Rust Ride) that has an Effect and Clean output...I want to be able to blend those two outputs into one signal. Basically, I want the fuzz 100% there and beable to mix in the dry signal. Would this be somthing hard to make? Would it be possible to mod the pedal? I assume to make a box lie this I would need three jacks, some wire and the right pot but i am not sure. Any help would be awesome.

Thanks!
Jeremy

Unfortunately, it would not be a simple cut-and-dry procedure to mix the outputs of your pedal together in such a fashion. It's more expensive, but getting a blender pedal which mixes effected signal and straight bass signal together (essentially the same thing that you want to do). Something like the Xotic X-Blender or Barge Concepts VB jr would do the trick.

You can use blender pedal and put your fuzz in its loop. Or you can use such device as Boss LS-2 which enables you to mix wet and dry outputs of your pedal. In first case you don't need to use dry output, the blender itself will provide clean sound.

There are THOUSANDS of threads dealing with this topic. I can see 5 on the first page alone.

Also:

The Gig Rig Wet Box is a good blender. Mix can even be controlled with an expression pedal.

Morley also have an effects blender expression pedal.
But I don't like the toe to heel range on the Morley, too short and so not precise enough for me.

First the Rust Ride is not a fuzz pedal it is a Overdrive pedal, it is of the Tubescreamer variety. I have one and I really don't think that there is enough room to do so with in the pedal it's self.

When I used mine alot I used it with a a Barge Concepts VFB-2, it worked fine.

I don't think a Blender would be very hard to make, all you need is a buffer and a pot in a box. Look around here for more ideas.
