clean sustain pedal

I'm looking for a pedal that can improve my sustain but not necessarily with a lot of distortion or dirt. Sort of like an organ bass pedal sound rather than a fuzz guitar. Any suggestions?

A pedal such as the Boss compression sustainer (CS-3) could do the job.

Thanks, Bassmike. I just looked at that on the Boss site, and that is the kind of pedal I had in mind.

Any other suggestions welcome, otherwise looks like it will be the Boss.

The standard CS-3 is okay - but a little noisy. The Humphrey mods one (which I have for this very purpose) is quiet, and doesn't introduce much noise/hiss into the signal unless you have the sustain all the way up to max.

The Pigtronix Philosopher's Tone can give you incredible lengths of clean sustain, according to Bongo's review and the demos I've heard. I've been GASing for one for a few months now.

Yep. Amazing pedal, added a whole new range of sounds and versatility to my rig. I can sustain an OC-2+Freqbox for around 30 seconds in more extreme settings.

thanks everyone - I actually own that MXR but never thought of it for this purpose - I will have to try it! - but that Pigtronix sounds good ... whatever that is. Never heard of it, but obviously that's my failing.
