Cleaning up my Whammy IV

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all, I've noticed that a compressor after a Whammy IV cleans up the signal (takes out a lot of the digital noise) quite well. However, I have two Whammies in parallel and only one compressor.

Would a pre-amp pedal (I'm thinking the Hartke Bass Attack) do something similar if I use the EQ right or should I just get another comp? I would like more tone shaping and a little grit on one of the channels and I think the Hartke is about perfect for what I want, assuming it can clean up Whammy.

I'm in the same boat, I'm giving my Whammy sidelong looks as we speak.

Rassafras. Maybe it's the bass I'm using... (a Michael Kelly Club Custom 5)

clip

It goes clean, Whammy IV, Whammy IV >> BBE Opto Stomp, Whammy IV >> DOD Bass Grunge, Whammy IV >> Opto Stomp >> Bass Grunge.

Sorry the grunge cut the volume tremendously... I was having feedback issues.
