A clip of my (basically) finished pedalboard

I thought I would post a clip of what my bass gear sounds like. Especially in light of how badly certain pieces of it have been bashed around here.

The finger-work on this clip is real sloppy. I only had a few minutes to record something and this clip is to highlight the pedalboard, rather than my playing.

The first two pieces of this clip are my "clean" tone which is a compressor, a chorus, and an EQ.
The next piece has the addition of a bass overdrive.
The next piece is my clean tone with the addition of distortion.
The next part is my clean tone with the addition of an octave pedal.
The last part is the clean tone, octave pedal and distortion.

Washburn B2 Bass with P style pickups --> Danelectro Chili Dog Octave --> Digitech Bass Squeeze --> Digitech Bass Multi Chorus--> Boss Bass EQ --> Digitech Bass Driver --> MXR Distortion Plus

It was all purchased used, piece by piece, and my whole pedal board, (including the used board itself), cost under $200.

Of course at this point, some people are going to start picking it apart, like a movie review. But I dont care. That's not the point. I'm not claiming that this is the greatest sounding board out there. But I think it sounds pretty darn good. And I wanted to post this as evidence that you dont have to spend your life savings on "perfect" botique pedals to get an overall decent sound.

Try running your drives before your chorus, and the compressor before the octave. Dirt -> chorus sounds a lot more synth-like than chorus -> dirt, and it tends to be less muddy, and the compressed, consistant signal will be easier for the octave to track.

Cool. I'll give it a shot.

Sounds a bit murky but that could be your recording gear, or something weird you did with the EQ pedal or something. Particularly your "clean" and "overdrive" sounds were a bit lo-fi for me.
