has anybody seen these? or used them? im considering getting one, once my pedal collection gets to a size large enough to warrant buying an actual board. they come in a variety of sizes, so it looks like they could be useful for pedal setups of all sizes http://www.rondomusic.com/pedalcases.html
thoughts? would you buy one?

I have a 23x13 board, and though I wouldn't throw it around it does ok for carrying pedals around. I did add a shelf for the second row of pedals, which also seemed to stiffen the case up a little.
Hard to go wrong for the price - try em out and, depending on how rough you are, they may do just fine.

I won't lie, it's not the sturdiest case in the world, and the velcro that comes with it is awful but it's not a bad case for the money. If you're tossing it around a good deal I can see something breaking, but I handle my gear with care, and I only play out 2-5 times/month so I don't think I'll have a problem. I'd suggest getting some egg shell foam to line the inside cover with because they are pretty deep. All in all a decent economy case.

Definitely not the most sturdy of cases, but it works in a pinch. Big +1 to getting some extra foam to put in there, otherwise you're going to have some loose pedals rolling around in the case. On the plus side, the case is fairly light, but the lip on the pedalboard side can be a hindrance when using wah/volume/expression pedals. |

| | | | The only problem that I've had with mine is that the pin on one hinge has fallen out. I need to fabricate something to replace it with.
I did replace the velcro with some industrial strength stuff and it is the strongest velcro I've ever seen.
The extra foam is probably a good idea too.

My only gripe with them is that after lugging them around for a while, the fabric started pulling away from the bottom of the case. Easy enough to fix. I wouldn't say they're tour-worthy or anything, but for home use and light gigging, they're a solid deal. |
