Colorsound Wah pedal for bass?

Sign in to disble this ad
Quote:
March 1978 Dated Colorsound Wah pedal in SPECTACULAR condition. Colorsound Wah's are famous for they're wide sweep and incredible range, but are also less vocal than the 60's Cry-Baby wahs. Solution? This wah's inductor has been upgraded to a Whipple Halo, a boutique replica of the same ones found in Clyde Mccoy Wahs of the 60's. HUGE improvement (the original inductor will be included as well). Has Mullard caps. This may be the best wah out there.
I have an opportunity to buy this... what are your thought about using it for bass?

I would too! I had the Bass Fuzz, and if it was smaller I would totally still have it!

Anyone else care to comment?

I've only tried one other wah, the EBS Stanely Clarke and I really didn't like it.

Anyway, thanks everyone's comments.

Here's a quick sample:

And let's not forget the brilliant Hugh Hopper (RIP) made great use of a Colorsound Wah.

Oh yeah? Did he use it with Soft Machine? I've only taken a quick listen to Vol. 2 so I'm not too familiar with them or Hugh. Could you point me to any tracks in particular?

It apparently was his main wah and I wish I could find the video (I'm still searching and will post it), but there was an intimate studio type jam where he was demonstrating his effects.

Sorry, the video has been pulled from online. It was "Mark Hewins and Hugh Hopper discuss 70's pedals" and apparently, it no longer exists.

If anybody on talkbass has this video, I hope it turns up again. It was brilliant. They do demos and free form jams.

I freakin' love Hugh Hopper!

Ah that's too bad. I haven't heard much of his work but what I have heard is interesting.
