Combining mine

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey so I'm basically wanting suggestions on any interesting combinations of my pedals that I may not have thought of already. Before I get rid of some of them.
I've struggled trying to find the best order for all of these which is the reason im wanting advice.
Here's what I have:

Boss NS2
Tech 21 VT Bass
MXR Carbon Copy
Earthbound Audio Supercollider
EHX POG2
Boomstick Audio Bottom Feeder
Dunlop 105Q Bass Wah
Xotic Bass RC Booster
Catalinbread Valcoder
EHX Electric Mistress
Boss ODB3
MXR El Grande
BBE Optostomp

I'm looking at selling about 8.
The reason is, I want a second bass and need the cash, but I don't want to sell pedals that I may not have discovered their full potential.
Any suggestions would be good, if not, thats ok too

This won't solve all of your problems but spend a half hour with each one individually to explore what they can really do. Getting rid of pedals can be hard. I think that some of the LED's in certain pedals contain a Hypnotoad circuit making it impossible to remove them from the signal chain.

Example: if you can get MXR El Grande fuzz sounds from your supercollider but you can't get super collider sounds from the MXR, you know what you have to do. Note, I do not own either of these pedals, that situation was purely hypothetical.

Yeah, ask yourself with each pedal:

Do I LOVE the sound of this pedal?
Do I (or will I) actually USE this pedal right now or in the very near future?
How hard will it be to re-buy this pedal if I ditch it and change my mind later?
Do any of these pedals overlap (as mentioned above)?
Are any of these pedals dependent on another? (ie - maybe you only have the comp to make the wah more manageable, etc, or maybe one of your pedals only sounds good to you in combination with another pedal).

Hope that's helpful...

More helpful than my post. That's for sure

Thanks for the help
Yeah I've spent a fair while with each individually. I guess it's just hard to find the best combination of pedals, I've tried a lot of combos and each time I get something new, interesting and often crazy. But I'm certain I'm neglecting to try some combinations.
Here's what I'm thinking of getting rid of:

Boomstick Audio Bottom Feeder - Don't use it
Dunlop 105Q Bass Wah - Don't use it
Xotic Bass RC Booster - Don't need it
Catalinbread Valcoder - Don't use it
Boss ODB3 - Don't like it
MXR El Grande - Don't like it
BBE Optostomp - Don't use it

It's just so hard to sell ones that I really like but just don't use with my band at the moment. I'm just afraid I will regret it when it's time to record again
