Compression

Hi All,
Which compression pedal do you use in your live rig, and where is it positioned among your other pedals?

Behringer Composer Pro rack unit in my preamp's effects loop.

Compressing post-EQ helps me get the sound I'm after, but pre-EQ is a valid approach, too.
This is a common topic of discussion among us sound engineers, with no clear winning side due to all the variables.

There's a lot to be said for taming your dynamic range a bit before the signal hits other effects pedals, so first in line makes sense.
Used later in the signal chain a comp can effectively boost the noise of previous pedals, especially distortion, so that's something to consider.
