Compressor on the cheap side...

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi !

I want to try using a compressor (never really wanted one before, heard the benefit lately while recording). Would a cheap pedal, such as MXR's dyna comp, do the trick ? What's the cheapest comp a bass player can use without getting too much noise and low end lost issues ?

Since you're new to comps and want a cheap, but effective one, I recommend the BBE Opto Stomp. It's easy to use (two knobs), very well made, not extreme and can be had on the cheap.

An excellent pedal that should suit your needs.

I'm surprised more people don;t go with the old standard --Boss. I like the limiter/Enhancer. Gives me just the amount I need without squishing it. And a tad more output. You can find them used for about $50.

+1

Although I haven't used one I've done my reading on them. Everyone seems to like them and their cheap on Amazon - around $60ish.
