I often hear that a compressor placed after modulation effects is a bad thing. Why ?

I've never heard that. The only thing I could imagine is in the case of modulation effects that make an annoying cyclical whooshing sound between notes--the compressor would make that whooshing louder.

The only reason I can think of is that mod effects usually come at the end of the chain, and adding a compressor after all your effects is just going to amplify the noise of all the effects.

Good, so it's simply a noise issue

Salut,

I've had that set-up for awhile now and have had no noise or bad sound issue.

Salut,
(Hi)

D'accord. J'évalue si je vais vers un rackmount ou une pédale.
(Good. I'm evaluating if I'll go with a rackmount or a pedal.)
