Is a compressor pedal that works on bass as well as mandolin asking too much?

There is just enough room left on my pedal board for a small unit.

I currently use the board for both bass and mandolin.

Bass goes into an Aguilar Tone Hammer pedal and then to the A side of an ABY box. Electric mando goes into a Sansamp active DI then onto the B side, allowing me to easily switch between instruments. The Y output goes to a Boss tuner, then an 18v Dano Cool Cat chorus and down the line to a power amp and speakers for stage monitoring. I'd like to add the compression pedal to the board and use it for both instruments, if possible.

The Biyang and Joyo compressor pedals are getting good reviews in the guitar world, so probably fine for my mando. Just wondering if anybody has tried these for bass? Any other reasonably priced compressors that might work for both instruments?

Hey man.

I have the joyo dyna compressor and am quite happy with it. I use it with my acoustic bass and electric guitars with a subtle setting and get alot out of it, but can have be used with extreme settings if need be.

I would say if you are looking for a cheap and effective unit then you will be happy. Plus it is sturdy and around the size of an mxr unit.
