Compressor trim pot?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Guys and Gals,

Decided to get the MXR Super Comp as my first compressor pedal, and i quite like it so far......................

I have seen a few threads about modifying pedals buy tweaking the 'trim pot'?

Im not very hot on electrics and how to change them, but would be interested in knowing more about it if it can improve the overall sound.

What is meant by this and what would it change settings / sound wise?

Many thanks

Not every circuit has trim pots, and in most circuits the purpose of any trim pots will be completely different. IOW when somebody refers to tweaking the trim pot, they are referring only to one specific model of pedal. A trim pot is just like any other pot (knob control), except small and in the interior of the pedal box. That's all. It has no particular function other than to turn something up or down.

If it was, I'm sure the info would be in the manual.
