Concerning Germ B:Assmasters...

Sign in to disble this ad
As a lot of you know, I have all three variants and love them all equally. I just recently purchased EHX XO Q-Tron+ from a fellow talkbasser (thanks funkinthetrunk!) and hooked up some fuzzes with it. I gotta tell you filter freaks, the Germ Assmaster was made for filter usage! I ran the Q-tron+ followed by my Germ and got hands down the sickest filter tone I've ever heard.

I was so excited that I had to share my little discovery.

Hey Grygrx,

The settings I used are: ASS and Harm switches to the right, Ass volume: 11:00, Bass Volume: just short of 12:00, Sensitivity: 11:30 ish.

I've been meaning to ask this question, as those damn fine pieces of pink b:ass have been tempting me.

What is the general consensus on germanium vs silicon, for filtered fuzz? All else equal, will germanium give a nice smooth synth sound, or is it maybe too subtle after filtering?

Vegas: clips maybe?

I wish I had recording equipment. For a filter, the Germanium gives a really smooth response that sounds very P-Funk for lack of a better term. I'm quite sure that grygrx would agree with me when I say that the double germ is a great best of both worlds fuzz overall.

Hell, I say get all three.
