Confused about a couple of phrase loopers.

Boss's GT-10B has a phrase loop allowing instant sound-on-sound loop creations. Is this be adequate enough for recording and eventually down the road live sound applications or would I be better off buying something that is strictly dedicated to looping, like their RC 50?

Any modern dedicated looper will be superior to a "built-in" looper on a multieffects unit. If you plan on using looping for live performances, songwriting, or anything other than just occasionally fooling around on, then get a dedicated looper. Also, the RC-50 is a three-track looper, as opposed to being a single track looper like on the GT-10B or even other dedicated loopers like the RC-20XL or Digitech Jamman. Multitrack loopers offer a vastly greater potential for interesting songwriting than any single track looper (other than the Echoplex anyways).
