I feel kinda stupid on this, but I'm not sure how to hook up the DBX 120 A to my SVT-Cl rig. I am currently running my bass guitar into the input on a chorus pedal and the output on the chorus pedal to the input on my SVT-Cl head. How would I connect the 120 A to this set-up. Any and all help is appreciated. |

On the back side of your head there'll be a jack labeled "preamp out" which will go to your 120A's input and then the output of the 120A will go to the jack labeled "power amp in."

I have to say that even with line level gear, I still prefer it out of the loop and in-line. I just boost the levels up to where I need them to be unity gain. Mind you, this is my preference and I'm certainly not speaking for everyone, but I've never plugged anything into a loop where I didn't think it sounded better than in-line...at best it sounds as good, and at worst it sounds worse. So I just quit bothering with it.

In my case, the only "effect" I have in my loop is my compression, which is nice to have there because I can choose if I want to slam my preamp, my power amp or both with the setup the way it is.
The only obvious +/- I can see with his setup now, is that his octave down will have no preamp breakup, and that it will be forced to track using a signal that already has that preamp breakup. So long as it's not an issue with tracking, however, I'd think that'd be preferable in most uses.
