Connection (Input or Loop)

Hi everybody.
I have read in some forums about Compressor and Distortions, it must be connected to the INPUT of the amp. I want to connect my ROCKTRON BLUETHUNDER BASS PREAMP & EFFECT with my BEHRINGER AUTOCOMPRO (Compressor) and after to my SWR Head, generally i use Distortion very dirty, my question is... Can i connect the compressor to the input and the rocktron to the loop without overload my amp head ???. Through the loop (from the send of the head to the input of the Rocktron, and from the out of the rocktron to the return of the head).

Any help will be appreciated !.
