Question Contour pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
Does anyone know if there are any pedals out there, that perform the same kind of function that the "Contour" knob on an amp usually does?

BBE Sonic Stomp is a popular one. Or just get an EQ pedal.

Thanks for the suggestions. I'm actually looking for something, that works like the low-high contour control on Gallien Kreuger amps (1001RB and 2001RB). I'll give it a try with one of my EQ pedals tomorrow, but ideally I want something that just shifts everything in the direction you want it, rather than just certain frequencies as an EQ does.

Contour is just a mid scoop. That's it.

Damn, I must be thinking of shelving maybe? I really need to stop making drunken posts.

EDIT: Heh, and obviously, my mention of GK amps was a really bad example.

+1 And this box allows you to control the "effect" more accurately - separate control over the low band.

Yamaha also makes a mid-scoop pedal that was developed together with Nathan East - I just don't remeber the name of that pedal (and I have never tried it...).

Trace Elliot SM-7 stompable EQ offers up 2 scoop/pre-shape/contour settings and the graphic eq. Also input and output levels. You can set it for by-pass, pre-shape, eq or pre-shape and EQ - on the fly with the two foot switches - it's a real useful device. I've had two and they each had or actually have great audio quality - not something I associate with TE in general. Scarce as hen's teeth over here. Maybe more plentiful where you are ? It's a box well worth searching out in any event.
