Cool voltage doubler

Sign in to disble this ad
I was googling around looking for one of those leads with an integrated voltage doubler for converting form 9v to 18v. I actually want one that can go to 12v so I can power a 12v pedal from my 9v daisy chain. No luck, but if anyone knows of such a thing let me know.

I did find some circuit designs though for 9v->18v doublers, and It should be possible to step down to 12v after the doubling by adding a resistor.

Anyway, I found this on Flickr and thought I'd share it with you, it looks awesome! A little something for my first DIY project methinks!

9V to 18V can be handled by something like the Godlyke Power Pump. But for 12V...

I know there are power supplies that can achieve it without any voltage doubling; the Voodoo Lab Pedal Power 2+, for instance, has a few outputs that are switchable between 9VDC and 12VDC.

BTW... what kind of cables are coming out of that thing?

EDIT: Oh... I think I see. It's a close-up shot of a really tiny box, I think.

adding a resistor? yeah you prob could. but it would be much easier to just replace the existing one? then again, it depends on how its laid out inside

Off topic but on that flickr there are some really cool pedal paintjobs.

Look up the Artec power supply. That has 6 9V outs, and then 2 outputs which are switchable between 6V, 9V and 12V.
