. . .but that does not sound like garbage?
Even when the Depth control is at "0," this pedal, when engaged, turns the sound of the guitar or bass into a muddy, mushy, mess (in a bad way). Keeping the Depth at "0" and toggling the pedal on and off, the difference between the sound is extreme.
Now, I expect most any pedal, when engaged, to change somewhat the basic tone, even if the depth of the pedal's effect is set to "0." The difference with this pedal is off the charts, however.
I love what the pedal aims to do, and I dig its functionality (I especially like the LFO-controlled rate for the triangle-wave filter; it has an enormous range, and I dig that it can go super-slow), but the actual tone of the thing is garbage. I don't know if this was a deliberate attempt at a "lo-fi" tone, or if the designer simply had no idea how to keep the "clean" tone from turning into woofy mudpile.
Any ideas? |
