Could This Overload My T-Rex Jr?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys, so I have a pedaltrain mini with a t-rex jr. built underneath the board. I'm using all 5 inputs and daisy chain powering one of my pedals with my korg tuner making the total of 6 pedals on my board. If I connect one of the plugs with one of these:

Would it work? If so, could I be overloading the fuel tank by having that many connections? Why you ask am I trying to do this? Well I would like to add one or two more pedals but don't want to buy a 9v apater and deal with more wires, tangles, etc. Any opinions? Thanks!

As long as the sum of the current draw of all pedals hooked up to one fueltank output isn't more than 120 mA it will work.

Hijack: why doesn't T-rex sell a current doubler with the fueltank junior as they do with the juicy lucy? They are 5 isolated outputs just like the JL. What am I missing?

How will I be able to tell if I'm pushing more than 120mA? Will the fuel tank just stop working?

You may see one or more of the pedals stop working, or sound bad, or "glitch" and act messed up.

Save yourself that situation and the guesswork that follows it. Just look up the current draw for each of the pedals, and add them up. Most current-draw specs are either posted by the manufacturer, or mentioned here in the forum, or found on a brand fansite like Bossarea.

Thanks Bongo for the completeness

Any insight on my Hijack about the current doubler? Won't it work with the FT junior?
(T-rex website doesn't have a emailadres so I can't ask)

Based on your trade for an m9 thread, I'm confident you could put any 3 of those pedals together and still not come close to 120mA.
