Couple of questions from FX noob (please have mercy)

Just to get the part that has been beaten like a dead horse out of the way I will ask about some Jaco effects but after the following.

So yeah first I'm looking for a power supply for my effects since the one I had, I managed to short-circuit (rest in peace my Gator BUS-8 supply). The only good news was that my existing effects are in perfect condition.

Then I am looking for loopers like the ones Jaco and Victor use so I can record various tracts and solo on them. (I wont need a fuzz pedal because of my MXR

Chorus might be nice but again if there is one that the delay unit may produce please do restrain from mentioning it.

Not sure if this falls under effects but I would also like a recommendation for a pedal tuner, I believe I might go for the pitch black for design and screen, (seeing as my eyesight is continuously failing me) if you guys a better recommendation please feel free to post it.

Last but not least a drum machine. This I really need since my bands always have random hiatus' and when we do get together the drummer is always missing . Also please don't refrain from the complicated ones since I was drummer myself before a bassist so I know how to pick out what I am looking for or how to make drum beats.

And for those wondering what effects I have, i am currently a proud owner of an MXR-80 and 105-Q Crybaby

I'm going to steal this from CrispyDelicious. You're new here so take this with a grain of salt, but:

Power supply choices usually boil down to DC Brick if you don't need isolated supplies; or a BBE Supacharger, VooDoo Labs Pedal Power 2, or a TRex Fuel Tank Jr. if you need isolated supplies. I think the Pedal Power 2 is the most versatile, but the SupaCharger and Fuel Tank are also able to work a variety of applications. You don't want to ask me about a looper or chorus. Everyone seems to love the Sonic Research Turbo Tuner.

But mind the GIF.

thanks for the input I actually tried the search tool but it always came out to a long search to tidbits of the things I'm looking for, alas it was probably my laziness that impeded me from finding what I needed. Regardless, if anyone is still willing please post, your input would be greatly appreciated.

I tend to go for cheapish pedals, so bear that in mind with the recommendations below...

For power supplies, I like the Visual Sound 1spot. I have daisy-chained up to about 15 pedals from a single 1spot and had no noise issues, everything worked fine. This does rely on having all 9-volt DC pedals though. For more complex setups, the PP2+, BBE supacharger or T-rex units may be necessary. But to me it sounds like you could easily use a 1spot combo pack.

Chorus - I don't know what to recommend. I use an old Peavey BAC-2, which is great, but I use it more as a crossover than as a chorus.

Looper - There are a ton of choices, but for me the easiest to use, especially in a live-looping Jaco kind of way is the Akai Headrush E2. A nice delay pedal with a very simple looping function that's easy to get the most out of. KT tunstall uses one for her solo looping stuff (search youtube), there's a lot you can do with it despite its simplicity. It doesn't do things that the Line6 DL4 does (double/half-speed), which is also a candidate, but I love the headrush because it's so easy.

Drum machine I can't help you with.

Steve

I'm back and this time is about my power supply and bout the Line 6 looper I'm saving up for.

Okay so let me cut to the chase. I've been reading around that my poor G-Bus power supply has a reset button/switch (for short circuits), yet I have yet to find it (I'm not kidding I even took the thing apart). Any words of enlightenment?

Then I looked around online and also asked a couple of older musicians (mostly guitarist that use effects) for a loop station and I landed on the DL4 Delay Pedal, and now I ask you guys here at Talk bass is there anything else out there?

What Im looking for looping, chorus and maybe delay.

The Line 6 is musical and the other delays in it are great, but 1. it isn't digital readout, just vague knob positions, 2. only 7/14/ sec. loops, 3. No storage. The Boss DD20 beats it. The latest Loop Station has Great memory, you can set up loops to be short or Very long, whole song long, like 3:30 minutes exactly...the JamMan has Great functions, but the sound isn't as good as the Boss. Above this $ level I do not know. Boomerangs are excellent, but too big on the floor for me...The best is a Line 6 into a Loop Station! The Line 6 actually has a modulation delay you can set to chorus or flanger lengths (milliseconds) Or you can craft a short loop and loop that. There is no decent chorus available below Analog Man price level, $300 ha ha
