Cracked open my Ibanez PH-7 Phaser...

...And there's two trim pots in it! I have no idea what they are for...Can anyone shed some light on this? I want to turn them, but want to know what I'm changing first.

There's also a split Diode (D1, looks like someone cut it in half...) and CB1 and CB6 have no components in them. Is this normal?
