Crackle/Static with Power Supply

Sign in to disble this ad
So I bought a gator Pedal Board - very excited about it. I've been throwing my pedals around on the floor up to this point. Also, came with a G-Bus-8 Power Supply - again really excited about moving past the 9-volt battery phase.

Anyway, set up the pedals and noticed that I was getting a crackle or static with the set up - wasn't happening before. I swapped one of the pedals out (Boss Compressor) and ran it alone with the Power Supply and there was the crackle/static. I unhooked the power supply - installed a 9-volt battery and no static. Removed the battery - Hooked up to the power supply - there's the crackle/static again.

Also, seems that my MXR Bass Octave Deluxe track as well hooked to the power supply as it does with the 9-volt battery.

I'm planning to send it back but wanted your thoughts and feedback first.

Anyone had this experince before?

Does the Gator power supply provide isolated outputs? If not, there's your problem, but if it does, I'm stumped.

The supply has an individual connection to each pedal - I assume that's isolated.

Not necessarily. Check the specs.

You're right. Not isolated. Does that explain the static? Why?

Thanks.
