Crybaby GCB-100 problem

I just got a GCB-100 crybaby bass wah pedal second hand and I cannot get it to function. I have tried it in a chain and on it's own, with a 9V adapter and without and still no effect comes up, no matter what position the pedal is in.

Is anyone able to shed some light on this? I've only just got it and didn't want to spend too much on a wah pedal cos I don't use them often.

Sounds like switch is bad if your signal is unaffected even when you think you switch the effect on
