Crybaby GCB-100 - Red or Yellow Fasel Inductor?

Sign in to disble this ad
So im going to mod my crybaby to get the tone sucking and other such issues out of the way. True bypass, LED etc etc...im also, for sake of "why not just upgrade" toss in a new fasel inductor and loose the stock one.

I was wondering if there was any noted perk for bass to going along with the yellow fasel inductor that ive read seems to add "more lows and its grittier" then the hi-fi red fasel inductor which seems to be more accustomed to guitar for sure.

Anyone have any ideas? I searched around but it doesnt seem this topic has been specifically touched on yet so here we go, thanks!

Sorry, cannot answer your question. But I just picked one of these up on local craigslist for 10 bucks because the switch was broken and the guy wasn't very savvy electronically. I was thinking of either using it for the shell or modding it for the hell of it. I would definitely love to hear what you do to yours!!!

I should record a un-modded walk and then record the modded for sure. See what i can come up with. im re-starting a new pedal board and kicking out pedals and buying new ones so everything is a mess now. But i love my wah, just want it to sound better.

I used a yellow when I modded a GCB-95 a couple of years ago. I think it may have been Aron Nelson that suggested it, but I could be making that up. Regardless, I made a number of other changes also, all of which made a huge difference overall.

My understanding was that the yellow Fasel inductor was for bass.
