I am looking to get a small custom sized pedal board - something economical but sturdy. I don't need a lid / case or power, and I only need space for four smaller boxes (a Korg Tuner, a Blues Driver, a Bad Monkey and a Micro POG). Ideas on who can build this (on the cheap)?
Peace!

Any other ideas?

Any other ideas? | Unless perhaps you have a buddy who could slap a couple of bits of wood / metal together for you, im not sure how much cheaper you would get a 'custom' board, than if you just say got a PT jr? Most people would charge materials and time.

Or spend for a Pedaltrain, they're cheaper, and you can just buy a DCbrick. |

And seriously, that couldn't take more than a half hour to "build". Then once you're done "building", order a Planet Waves or George L pedalboard kit and be done with it.

| | | the only custom boards i know of are hardcore and real-deal. not very "home made"
but i like this guys work because he will give you a "true bypass strip" so you can bypass all the pedals that arent already true bypass. http://www.pedalboards.com

Yet! | | Join Date: Dec 2006 Location: Cincinnati, Ohio | | I say go to Home Depot (or equivalent) and buy a piece of wood as small as will fit your pedals, if they don't have good sizes, buy a 2x2 and have them cut it down for you. Then get some material to cover it in (can be anything, sheet metal, diamond plating, tolex - thats the stuff they cover amps in, or some felt even) and paste it on with something, or staple it around the corners... you can get that at the home depot too... Wont take more than an hour... I guess if you are actually THAT busy... but you know, the time you take to find someone to build it and decide what to get/have them do could just take over an hour as well... consider the time talking to us as part of that time too
Seriously though, if you have even an hour that you aren't doing anything else, you can pick these things up and make it, simple design, but it sounds like you don't want/need anything more.

But honestly if you want quick and cheap take a wedge of appropriately sized wood and put some walmart velcro on it or something. If you have time to post on TB you have time to build a pedalboard, it should seriously take like 5 minutes.

| | | | make it yourself Most ppl's homemade boards suk and r heavy cuz they go overlkill... I build my 1st one with 1/2 inch plywood... it's a beast... I need like 2 roadies just to move it... I've droped it and such and not even a dent... seriously tho my friend went to a junk shop and got an old briefcase and just stripped it and it's a bad ass lil case... so I say just get inventive if ur on the cheap..."hey mom can I borrow this big tuperware container..." lol |

Instead, I cut some plexi-glass I had laying around to size (about 6 x 20) with a hand saw (slow going, no power tools) and I'm gonna throw some duct tape around the edges to "finish" it, lol. I don't even think I am gonna add feet, but maybe. Maybe handles of some kind. Then velcro + the pedals and I am done. I'll post pics when she is all pretty .
