hey all,

I have been listening to alot of between the buried and me lately. especially with their newest album release.

anyway i was wondering what effect he has on in the clean part of the song "backwards marathon"? its some sort of ambient effect like delay or reverb im just wanting to know if someone can narrow it down more for me.

here is a video. you can see around 2:38 when the clean part starts he kicks in a pedal.

Didn't really sound like anything to me. The attack was soft, so either he was just playing with soft plucking, or maybe he was using a "Slow Gear" or "defretter" type of effect, which fades in the note attacks.

I think he turned OFF the dirt pedal he used the rest of the time.
The guy's clothing is strange. He looks like he's in his bedroom, not on stage.

lol, dan previously used an ibanez ad-9 and a dod fx90b (i think thats the one) the bass old bass overdrive. spector 5 string, d'addario halfrounds (all fingerstyle), sunn 300t, ampeg 810.

for the Great Misdirect I've seen some new pedals. When I saw them live, he had a full boss setup and a tubescreamer I believe, which was strange. On the album, I can tell he uses some kind of synth pedal, in the picture I can see a tonelock so I think he might have the ibanez bass synth.
