I've read dozens of threads on choruses and lots of reviews and have decided to purchase a Danelectro Chorus pedal. They are inexpensive and sound good.
My question is, is the 18V version really that much better??
The new version is 9V but has true bypass and Mix knob.
I use a Voodoo Lab PP2 so I can use the 18V cable if I decide to get the 18V version, but my pedalboard is pretty packed, so I would have to daisy-chain on of my other 9V pedals to make room for the 18V (no biggie).
Bottom line is, which is better???
Newer CC-1 = true bypass, mix knob, eq, 9v, new
Older DC-1 = not TB, 18V, used
Thanks!!! |

What sort of sound are you looking to get out of it? |

To be used as an effect but also that can be subtle as to be "always on" during a song.
Thanks you all, and let me know if you record the soundclip.
BTW I really like this videoclip, can the new Cool Cat get that sound?? http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...deoID=38698240 |

Fills out your sound without sounding like an effect. But you can also get some good warbly "underwater" sounds too.
I use it for a subtle effect on my guitar, and for 80's alternative rock (Siouxsie and the Banshees, Cocteau Twins, Joy Division, etc.) on my bass. Good stuff. |

For a thick chorus, I put the depth at 3 o'clock and the speed at 9 o'clock. For a leslie chorus, I put the depth at 9 o'clock and the speed maxed. |

i took it to a good technician and he said that the chips must be damaged and he couldn't find any replacements
i know that i can have a very hot signal at times but this never happened with other efx
but i love my vintage 18v version... and looking inside they are different beasts!!! but when both worked they sounded very similar but i remember liking the 18v better
the only thing i disliked about the 18v was that when i didn't have the power supply for it it drained the batteries like crazy
and i forgot to mention... cool cat acts and sounds like Roland jazz chorus amp... when in stereo one is dry other is wet and this thing is capable of all kind of chorus/vibrato sounds
