Darkglass B3k - FROM Effects Boutique

Sign in to disble this ad
I know there's a lengthy thread on this, but man, this pedal is a lifesaver! After countless run ins with imposters there's a tried and true, easy to use bass overdrive pedal out there for everyone!!.. No need to double up on other effects to try and get the OD tone you're looking for. I've had this thing for four days and I can't stop smiling every time i engage it. From mild to heavy metal raw, skanky grunt - it's all here.

I picked up the last one Rob had from Effects Boutique in San Diego, but don’t worry he has more on the way. He’s also got a great place to demo it if you’re interested. Best $295 I’ve spent on an effect in three years! Seriously, stop trying to get one of those “big” boxes to do it for you. If you’re like me you know you’ve spent 100s buys and selling ODs trying to find nirvana. Look no further.

This is a personal endorsement (because I’m so freaking happy)!

oh, I should probably mention I'm playing through an Ampeg SVT-CL and GB Uber 212. Probably a little different if someone is playing through a Shtl3.0-1x10".

Set aside $10 each week for the next 30 weeks, then you do will have enough money to order a B3k. Set up an automated transfer from checking to savings. Is super easy, but require patience.

It's a sweet pedal, and the builder is a nice guy.
For me, it's #3 on the list of great fuzz/distortion/overdrive pedals.

I got mine from bassefx.com. They had a coupon going at the time so I got it 10% off. The guy emailed me often to tell me about the progress the pedals made while fording the pond. Great customer service.

Aside from being a terrific pedal, three things made it even cooler for me:

1. Douglas (the manufacturer) gives TalkBass members a discount (it was like that when I bought mine, at least. Don't know if the offer still applies).

2. The price includes shipping anywhere in the world.

3. I wasn't charged any duties/taxes when mine arrived home.

Great pedal! This is the kind of "timbre" I've been looking for a while. For what it does, it does it very well.

because of where I work, I have the advantage of being able to spend alot of time with these pedals (thats about all im allowed to say withough violating rules) - i have not been disappointed by any of them, and when I can get the cash together I may even get the B7k - although the B3K does exactly what I want, the B7k does that and more!

This pedal is simply amazing...I've spent so much time/money trying to get the tone that I was able to dial up on this pedal in 5 minutes...and it's not just me- bandmates were also blown away! Worth the investment!

Got one for Christmas! I was talking about it after listening to some demos and watching the accelerated build video, and my wife actually went and ordered one! Got it from Arsenal Music in Canada. So far I really like it, mild grind is my thing, and this has as much or as little as I could want.
