Darkglass b7k live set up

So I just purchased a Darkglass b7k. I haven't gotten to play around with it yet but I was curious on how you set your EQ on both the pedal and your amp. I feel like having a EQ on my active stingray, an EQ on the darkglass, and an EQ on my Orange TB500 will be an overkill or something.

Also do yall just run the output to your bass rig at a show or do you use the parallel output? I'd use the DI for the FOH system just curious on what output you'd send to your cab.

I would start with everything as flat as possible, Then dial in the pedal, then make minor adjustments with the amp.

Of course it all depends on the genre of music, but here is how I use mine for church/ modern rock sounds:

If you watch the demo video that Will Davies did, I start with the "Tube Grit" setup from the video. I like the brightness of having the blend knob at 100% with the drive at 10:00. I play a MM Sterling 5HH finger style, so I flip the attack switch up and the Grunt switch to the bottom setting. This gives me a nice midrange growly yet warm tone. If I dig in a little, I can add more grit. I keep my bass EQ flat and my Mesa M6 EQ is mostly flat as well. I LOVE the attack of this pedal live. All of my runs and rhythm tracking with the drummer is heard clearly. I let this pedal do most of the heavy lifting for my system EQ.

Here is the video link: http://youtu.be/emFyuS73jEI

I forgot to say that I do not use the parallel out given that I rarely need heavy OD for church. All of the pedals are run into the front of my amp. We have a very limited setup at church, and I am afforded one channel which comes from the DI of the Mesa.

Thanks for that. Another question. What kind of power supply do you use? I figured it'd come with one but I found an old 9VDC 750mA that powered the pedal but when the circuit was on it had a really loud hum on almost any setting. It was most pronounced when the drive or level knob was up or if the grunt switch was in either the bottom or top position

I use a 1Spot and haven't noticed the hum. I also just tried the 12V power supply from my Compressore and didn't notice a hum. I have a message out to Doug to see what your problem might be. If you message him through the Darkglass Facebook page, he will respond quickly. Of course, he is located in Finland, so the +9 hour time change will need to be considered.

I emailed Spencer and he said it had to be my power supply. I'll go get the same power supply as you tomorrow
