Darkglass question

I have 2 different sansamp pedals and im deciding through the B7K and B3K right now, wanting to order in the next couple days.

My question is this: Sansamp (I have a bddi and rbi already) + B3K

OR buy the B7K and use its preamp.

Which would you recommend and why?

If you don't need the DI then the B3K is the way to go save the money Prymaxe has a sale ending today if you want either.

I was in a similar position. I heard 10 seconds of Nolly Getgood using the B7K and my mind was made up. The B7K is a phenomenal preamp. It sounds NOTHING like a SansAmp. The distortion and EQ are different and have a different impact on your tone. If you rely on the SansAmp for your general tone, but are looking for some grittier and punchier distortion, then keep one of the Sans and order the B3. If you aren't in love with the SVT emulation and want to reshape your tone, than the B7K is a good choice.

I got the B7K and it rocks. The EQ is great for really dialing in good, useful tone. It's my "the one" pedal.

I was hoping the B3K would sound good through the VT bass. So I bought a B7K just to give it a try, since it has the same "engine" as the 3K. I decided that I dig the B7K by itself. But just know, it does not color your sound like sansamps do. I did not like the sound of it with the VT either. Maybe the Bddi or RBI will be different. But I have dialed in some great modern tones as well as some warmer vintage type stuff with my B7K. I'm really happy with it. It does take some time to adjust it to your bass and amp. Def not a plug and play. But once you get it you'll be stoked.

Yeah it definitely takes some time to really get into what the controls do. I've had mine nearly for a year and I'm still figuring things out and finding new ways to tweak it!

Can't wait to move up to the B7K!

I have the RBI and BDDI, but you're saying the preamp is a completely different sound even in that case?
