Darkglass Vintage microtubes - favorite settings
Just got my first Darkglass Vintage Microtubes.
What are some people's favorite settings to start out with? Would love some ideas as to where to start.
Many thanks in advance
I used mine as an always-on tone-shaper and light overdrive. My bass has a low output, so I can set the Gain up between 10-11 o'clock without a lot of drive unless I dig in. I set the Blend to 100% wet, Era to around 2 o'clock and Volume to taste (I use mine to push a tube amp a bit, so my Volume is always boosted above unity). With the Vintage Deluxe I just got the EQ makes it far more versatile, but of course also much less plug-n-play...
i have just the other day found a new sweet setting. i keep the blend 100% wet. the drive and era is both at around 11 and the level is a little over unity.
this really gives me a dynamic light drive that gives me that nice light breaking up sound!
just so you have something to compere with:
The setting i had before was blend and era at 12 ish, the drive set at 2 and the level at 11.

Where do you guys put the Vintage Microtubes in your chain?
Do you put it where you would normally put drive or fuzz? Or somewhere different?
I'm using mine as an always-on light overdrive, last pedal in my chain.
Currently I have it set to:
Blend: 10 o'clock
Era: 1 o'clock
Level: 1 o'clock
Drive: 12 o'clock
Really liking it around this setting...
I used to set it up differently with my old bass (again as an always-on light overdrive), something like:
Blend: 4 o'clock
Era: 1 o'clock
Drive: 8 o'clock
Really it just depends on what bass I'm using.
I use mine stricly as an OD, does a fine job. I have EBS Valvedrive always on as a tone shaper with a bit of drive when I dig in. So when these too are stacked it can be a bit aggresive.
Scale is 1-10
What I have noticed, whatever way I set the dials, it sounds freakin awesome all the time!
