DBX 262 Compressor anyone??? need some advice

so i can get this DBX 262 compressor for cheap, my question is, is it good for bass? any happy or non happy users here?

ill appreciate you input

thanks BTW i checked on bongomania's compressor reviews and isnt there

FWIW I Googled it and one of the first links that popped up was a review here on TB. Check it out. Note the prices he mentioned, and note that Project1 was a budget line from dbx.

fet compressors can be harsh, maybe not harsh but angular in respoce.
opto compressors can sound noticably rounder.
but cheap usally to me means good to learn with. also what's the signal to noise specs, if it's like -70dB don't bother cuz it's a noise enhancer. -90dB area spec is much better.

The 262 is neither FET nor opto. It's VCA.

I have two of those lying here under the bed, 110v (I am in europe), anyone interested send a pm.

(Have only tested them once, did never need them in the end, bought on a trip to the states yeeears ago).

Sorry for the spam here, if it's not ok, then just remove it.

Yup, but the units are 110v (there are things called adapters ya know..)
