Sign in to disble this ad
Hey guys... I gonna sell these:
Boss NS-2 Noise Suppresssor
Boss CS-3 Comrpession Sustainer

in orden to buy a Compression Rack.
For the money that I gonna earn, I cand afford this options:

DBX 266XL Compressor/Gate
Behringer Autocom Pro-XL MDX1600
Phonic PCL 3200
American Pro CL-8000

Simple question: wich is the best option??
Others suggestions for that price range?

Cue Bongo in 3...2...1....NOW!

Search for Bongomania, as he has a TON of reviews of compressors. He is the king.

Personally, I'd suggest the dbx. But one look at Bongo's reviews should be enough.

I think the Autocom offers a lot of adjustment and sounds decent; don't know that I'd use it for a live gig as the reliability is questionable
For a live rig, I'd use the 266; I own both of these models
Wouldn't recommend the other 2

I'd get a used DBX 166A or 166XL. It's much better than the 266.

differences between the 266XL and 166XL??? (+100 hu? jaja)

I want to change my compression because i feel that the CS3 sucks my tone... and gives me a very thin sound with lots of highs but no lows.
The 266 do that??? or itīs a good compressor for bass????

(sorry for my atrocious english)

Hola hermano, por favor de chequear el enlace mio por abajo, "compressor reviews". Puedo intentar a explicar mas en espaņol, pero no hablo con fluidez.

As far as the dbx lines, the 266 is no good. You really do get $100 better results from the 166.

I'd get the 266XL - I own 2 of them, and they seem cleaner than the Behringer (which I have used).
