DC Power Adapter NOISE!!

Sign in to disble this ad
Craziest thing - was hearing a high-pitched whine in my office/gear room that was driving me BANANAS, which, through process of elimination, was traced to the 18v DC adapter for my Tone Hammer! The noise came from the plug itself.

Kooky! Anybody else have a similar experience and/or know how this can be avoided? I tried several different outlets/extensions/power strips without differing results.

Not like it's going to affect things in a gigging or rehearsing situation, but it might in the recording control room, and it would also be nice not to have to unplug the thing the moment I'm done using it to avoid GOING INSANE.

So if I have it plugged into a powerstrip, I'm guessing that "before" means the end of the strip closest to where the wall cord connects?

N.G.

I'll just spring for a new one - different brand - and see what happens. Thanks for your help.
