De-tune pedal?

Sign in to disble this ad
In my endless quest for live DnB/Synth bass-tones, I started thinking about how I used to do it with Reason.
For a part to get that thick and nasty sound I was using 3 Reese synth modules and de-tune one of the two sawtooth filters in them a bit.
So I started looking how I would be able to do this with a bass pedal.
On the EHX site I stumbled on the Ring Thing that appears to have a "de-tune"-setting.
Would this be a way to go?

Not to open a giant can of worms, but that was my idea as well. Check out the dubstep wobbbbble thread.

Now you bring that up, I remember something about de-tuning in that thread, but I think no one had the answer that time?
The ring thing is pretty new, so maybe that would be the solution?
I'm planning to buy it anyway in July.

Yes, I saw it, thanks!
But, like I thought, it wasn't answered yet.
As soon as I've got the money together, I'll be ordering it. Should be in about a week since my birthday is the 3th of July
Normally my custom low pass filter (based on the MF-101) should be ready to around that time.
Conical Johnson also said to have his wobble-pedal ready in the beginning of July(I put myself on the waiting-list for the first batch), so it'll be synth-madness

My bad, his screen name is Taylor Livingston now and he's the man behind Iron Ether effects.
Haven't you read about the pedal he developed?

It's going to be a something of a LFO and LPF build in one pedal.
Tap tempo for the LFO and the option of controlling the speed of it with an expression pedal, your pitch (higher the pitch, higher the oscillation rate)or using them together.
That way you can wobble on the beat
Also, you have all the controls on the LPF that were on the Xerograph.

Moog low pass filter (or any lpf) with an expression pedal will make things synthy

add fuzz, moog freqbox, and octave to get fancy

I've already got a custom LPF on the way that should be ready someday next weak
The wobble machine should be finished any of the upcoming weaks.
Besides that I've also got the OC-2, a fuzz and a Phaser.
Next week I'll be ordering the EHX Ring Thing, BMS and Micro Pog.

The Markbass Super Synth has 3 oscillators that you can set the pitch (+/- 32 semitones) and detune of individually.

The detuning pedal won't be a problem, it seems I got an offer from an unexpected person.
Don't know if I'm allowed to say anything about it yet, so I'll keep my mouth shut for now
